Staff Selection

The school works on staff selection including teachers, educational supervisors and administration staff through an educational committee that applies concrete procedures. These procedures afford the school the opportunity to select staff appropriate to the required posts. The school advertises the vacancies and selects appropriate candidates for interview and testing from the applicants, based on their academic qualifications, personality and experience in the field. The school conducts intensive training for the new staff who later join the existing staff in the ongoing training programme conducted on Thursdays. The staff comprise Saudi, Arabic and European nationals; 80% of whom are academic and 20% administration and support staff.

Structure of the Teaching Staff

To facilitate work and appraise it, the school organises the teaching staff into homogeneous groups based on the differing specialisations, whereby the teachers are allocated to a specialist supervisor for each subject. The school comprises the following groups: Islamic Education, Arabic Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, Art Education, Counselling, English Language, French Language, Maths and Science in English, Computer Studies, and a special Lower Elementary programme. These groups are supervised by an academic supervisory body comprising the Principal, Director of Training and Development, and two Assistant Principals.

In-Service Training and Development

SNS adopted an in-service training programme from the outset to provide all of its staff, especially teachers, educational supervisors and administrators with a comprehensive training programme. These are organised for, on average, three weeks in the summer vacation and on Thursdays throughout the academic year. The programme incorporates basic educational and psychological principles needed to help staff in evaluating behaviour and promoting a positive attitude towards the teaching profession. The programme fosters the development of teaching skills and special methods of instruction in each of the separate subjects. The school staff are also provided with current educational trends that the school acquires from Arabic and International resources. The in-service courses are not only for the academic staff but for all its personnel.

SNS comprises a special department for training and development that runs in-service training seminars for all the staff. The Department recruits highly qualifies personnel who conduct courses in education, educational psychology and methods of teaching the special subjects i.e. English, Arabic, Math, Science etc.Training and Development activities are conducted in Saad Schools, to the parents and Ministry of Education key personnel.
